help our main payroll over Xmas is up to WE 31/1

Our Xmas payroll is up until 31/12 as we are back to work 6/1 and next pay run is on the 7/1 however some of the guys want to be paid up in advance up until 14/1 which we can pay in advance the question I have is I need to obviously put through STP for those weeks but when I process the employees for the ones returning 6/1 do I just adjust the payrolls in STP as I already ran payroll for those employees paid in advance sorry hope this makes sense

Hi Marissa - the ATO are taking a break and all their systems will be down - so any STP lodged during this time will go into a queue - I would suggest that you just send an STP file when you process the pay on your return and all the YTD figures will be updated by then?

Hi Linda so you suggest to do the pay runs now for the ones to be paid in advance just don’t lodge the pays STP until I get back is that correct

yes that should be fine - or you can lodge the STP as they are for the advance pays - then do adjustments when you return - and the next STP lodgement after everything is fixed will sort it all out.

Marissa, you would do the STP on the day payment is made for those being paid in advance as per any normal pay run, when you do your pay run on the 7th the one's paid in advance will not be in the run so it will not affect their totals.

if you just upload a new payrun after the holidays - it will update the YTD and all will be fine - no need to do as updated...
