Transfer of files to new company

We are going through a restructure where some of the company files are to move to a different company.

How easy is it to just transfer the hosted license for selected entities and therefore the login so all history is available to the new owners (as opposed to doing an accountants copy or similar)?

Thanks

Hi Nicky_M. Provided that they have their own licence, it should be simply a matter of giving them a copy of the file, get them to delete all old logins and set up their own. To some extent it would also depend a bit on whether or not you have got these multiple company files all operating under a single licence at the moment.

Thanks John - we have multiple companies (its a property management portfolio with different buildings and ownership entities) under the one login - so a little more awkward?

Not necessarily, Nicky. If you only have one licence covering multiple entities, it will not be possible to transfer the licence for one entity or you will lose access to the remainder of the entities. As long as the receiving entity has their own Reckon licence, you will be able to give the company file to them, but before you do, you would want to change the login details for that entity, if perchance you are using the same login currently for the rest of them.
