Restructuring business

- Can we transfer suppliers and customers from our existing Reckon company to a new Reckon company electronically or do you have to manually enter them?
- How do we transfer outstanding invoices from our existing company to new company?
We have the small business edition of Reckon
Cheers

You can export all of your Lists from the old file & import them into the new one 😊
To do this,
In the OLD Company File:
- Click on File (along top toolbar) Utilities > Export > Lists to IIF Files :
(You can either tick & Export each list individually or tick & export tham altogether)
When you tick the applicable checkbox(es) & click OK, save them on your PC (I'd recommend the Desktop so they are easily retrievable!) & Reckon will save these in a special file format (.iif)
In the NEW Company File:
- Click on File (along top toolbar) Utilities > Import > IIF Files
You then navigate to the IIF file(s) & double click on (or Open) them
You will now have all your selected Lists from your old file in your new Company File 😊
Unfortunately, the same can't be done for transactions 😫
For transactions, you will need to enter the relevant Account / Supplier opening balance entries / open (eg unpaid) transactions
My recommendation is to enter outstanding Supplier Bills & Customer Invoices along with any YTD Entries for Employees (via Set Up YTD Amounts under Employees dropdown menu), then enter any other existing, stand-alone balances (eg prior GST outstanding, Bank/Credit Card/Loan balances etc)
