Excluding a certain class from reporting

I am trying to run reports e.g. profit and loss and TB but exclude a particular class. I see there is a way to run reports and filter so that certain classes are included in the report. However I want to run a report and exclude certain classes. Is this possible? The reason I want to do this is so I can exclude the yearly adjusting journal entries from the year end accounts in our management reports.

Please let me know if you know of a way to do this.

Thanks!

Easily done through modify report; pick class then multiple classes and just tick the ones you need

Thanks for your help Charley, however this doesn't work in my case as not every transaction in my ledger has a class so if I filter by class it also leaves out the transactions that don't have a class also.

Hi sammylane, the report filter can only perform the inclusion of nominated classes as Charley has indicated whereby it allows you to select only those that you want to include.

As a workaround consider generating the specific report twice.

Firstly filtered to show all the transactions, then export the report to Excel.

Secondly filtered to show only the class that you want to exclude and then export the report to Excel.

Then in Excel you could create new modified report that excludes the amounts and accounts as needed.
