My 2020 version expired without an update to 2021. Can I just download 2022 do I have to download 2021 first?

Having trouble. How do I uninstall previous version, and can I do that without losing my data?

The files from your 2020 edition of Personal Plus or Home & Business will open directly in the 2022 edition so there's no need to download and install 2021.
