    Hi @carolg

Can I just clarify, this post has been created in the Payroll App category but you've mentioned GovConnect in the post as well. Are you actually using the Payroll App or some other Reckon software in conjunction with GovConnect for your STP submissions?

    Hi Rav

I use Reckon Accounts Desktop and I lodge STP reports through the Reckon Gov connect portal

Thanks for that @carolg, I'll move your post over to the right category.

In regard to your query, since the ABN is not changing there's not much you need to do on the GovConnect end of things however to clarify, will you be using this same ABN with the new business you're opening?

What is happening with the existing company file for the business you've sold? Will the new owner be taking that on or do you need to finalise the payroll?

    To give you some background

We had a restaurant and bottle shop and we import 4 containers of wine a year to supply the restaurant.

We sold the restaurant and bottle shop but now we wholesale the wine we import to the new owners.

So our company and ABN is the same just our address, phone number and trading name is different.

The employees now work for the new owner but a couple of the casual workers will also work for us occasionally when we need them to deliver wine or unload containers.

From what you've outlined so far, there doesn't seem to be anything you need to do with GovConnect since you're retaining the same ABN. You'll need to finalise your employee's payroll though so that their earnings/super/tax etc from your business are listed as tax ready when its EOFY/tax return time next year.

If your ABN was changing then you'd need to create a new ABN entity in GovConnect but that doesn't seem to be required in your instance.
