Posting to a header general ledger

Hi Everyone
is there a way to stop people posting to a header general ledger in Reckon Accounts Hosted.
Thanks

Not that I’ve ever heard of, but always something new to learn

I’ve done that many times @Charley

It’s very frustrating 😫 as the main problem with posting to header accounts is that the system reads these transactions as posting unspecified which results in additional “Other” sub account lines on financial statements (P&L and the Balance Sheet)
The only workaround is to reiterate again/the above to staff & add the words “(DO NOT USE!)” to the header account names, however that will only work if they’re paying attention to it when entering data, of course 😬

I used to type the header accounts in caps and tell them they weren’t to use any accounts in caps

I know a way but normally people will not like it because it is a custom solution and it will cost money :D
