Is it best to uninstall the old version before installing the new one?
I personally have never uninstalled the old version but that's in case I need to use it again for other people
Hey Kris
You don't have to uninstall the previous version. The only thing I'd suggest is having a clear distinction when it comes to your files so you know which have been upgraded etc.
I did uninstall and then install the new version just to be sure, because over the years this has been a problem, but this program doesn’t have payroll, and we’re now trying to find out the additional cost compared to the upgrade on the phone app that she’s been using
Hey Kris,
Happy to organise a call from a member of the Customer Service team for a chat if you'd like?
Thanks @Rav but I think the customer has spoken to them in the last 30 minutes. But my next question is, if she moves from the app to her Desktop version how can she export the STP file as I don’t think she has a password for the Reckon portal, but the ABN is clearly registered in the app and it does it automatically I believe.
And she will also have to go to Access Manager and change the software ID - correct?
It'll be quite straightforward. Since they already have a Payroll App account that means they already have a Reckon Portal account ie. a Payroll App account is a Portal account as well.
So all they'd need to do is login to the Reckon Portal with the same login credentials that they're using for the app. Once they do so, they'll see their GovConnect is already active for their ABN.
They'll just need to add the Reckon Accounts Desktop product within that existing STP entity and the use that to submit their STP submissions created from RA Desktop.
Oh good, thanks Rav………..
oh and will we have to change the software ID in Access Manager
No it won't be required since they'll still be using the existing STP entity for the ABN ie. it'll carry the existing Software ID 😊
