    Hi,

We are in the process of upgrading to Reckon enterprise 2023 from the current Reckon enterprise 2022 version. It is taking very long to take the backup, we started the backup at 5pm yesterday evening and it has completed only 25% of backup, so can we stop this process and proceed without taking the backup as our business is open and we are not able to trade.

    Please advice us ASAP.

    Hi @Rafi

How large is your data file? Do you usually perform regular maintenance on the file?

There are a few things you can do to maximise the performance you're getting out of the file and I'll link a few resources below.

Just something to note, although it looks like its frozen and/or not responding, it is still working in the background and while I can't give you an estimate on how long it will take, if you leave it running it will eventually complete.

⚠ Important - If you have a very large company file AND the size of your TLG file is also large, then its only a good idea to delete the TLG if you first make a copy of your existing company file and existing TLG file & save that in a separate folder in your Q drive OR download it to your PC just as a precautionary measure.

FYI - Mine is close to that size and took 2.5 hours last night - if you look under backups, there's a TMP file in there and every 15-30 minutes they size/timestamp changed which told me it 2was at least doing something - so i had no option but to wait it out :(
