Reckon Backup and Rebuild taking days - can I delete TLG file?
We are trying to backup the data file before updating to 2023 and it just keeps crashing.
I was going to run a backup and rebuild before the update and it won't work.
The IT manager has pointed out that the TLG file is 4GB and perhaps we could take a backup of that and the data file and then delete the TLG file before trying again to backup? Would this be an appropriatte course of action?
Any other ideas on how to speed up the backup so we can get the update installed before our first pay next week?

Hi Rosie
How large is your data file? Do you usually perform regular maintenance on the file?
There are a few things you can do to maximise the performance you're getting out of the file and I'll link a few resources below.
⚠ Important - If you have a very large company file AND the size of your TLG file is also large, which at 4GB it is, then its only a good idea to delete the TLG if you first make a copy of your existing company file and existing TLG file & save that in a separate folder.
Just something to note, although it looks like its frozen and/or not responding, it is still working in the background and while I can't give you an estimate on how long it will take, if you leave it running it will eventually complete.
