STP Error - Payee Record Count must be equal to the number of children (PAYEVNTEMP)

Hi everyone

We've been investigating reports of some STP submissions returning a 'Payee Record Count must be equal to the number of children (PAYEVNTEMP)' error message.

âš  What is the issue?

Our team has isolated the cause of why this is occurring; when an employee pay does NOT include any balances for:

  • Gross
  • PAYG
  • Lump Sum A, B, D or E
  • Allowances
  • FBT

The result is that employee gets excluded from the STP .json file when exported even though they are ticked in Reckon Accounts.

When the STP submission is sent through it returns the 'Payee Record Count must be equal to the number of children' error.

🛠 Workaround

Our teams will continue to investigate however the current workaround solution at this time is to add $0.01 on any of the above item types, such PAYG for example.

After doing so, the pay will then be included in the STP .json file when exported and can be submitted via GovConnect as normal.
