    Hi @debbiemeryl

    Can you provide a bit more info on this please. If you have a screenshot of what is happening on-screen that would be great as well.

    Also, which email service are you using to send emails through via Reckon Accounts?

    Is this something new that is happening?

    Hi Rav,

    This is new since loading reckon 2023 desktop on. My email settings are as follows

    Hotmail / Outlook.com

    Server Name smtp.office365.com

    Port 587

    I used to be able to just send them

    I could be wrong but I was under the impression that entering the email password upon an email being sent out after the Reckon Accounts software is opened for the first time is required/normal. After you've entered it once, it won't be required again until the software is closed and reopened again.

    Unless I'm misunderstanding what's happening?

    I've just tested it out in my 2023 install and its working as normal in the sense that its asking for a password when I send my first email out only. Then I can send emails out without having to enter the password again within that same session.

    I didn't enter a password the first time so don't know the password

    @debbiemeryl Try running it as administrator.

    To do this, close out of the program first. Then right-click on your RA icon, right-click again on it in the popup menu then select Run as administrator. Does that fix it ?

    I don't know as much about the technical side but if not, it may just need a little tweaking as the new version creates new folders so it may have dropped out some permissions ?

    @Rav it normally only asks for the Email Password the very first time it's set up for emailing, but it should retain it after that 😬

    @Acctd4 Hey Shaz,

    Hmm I'm not seeing that in my testing but will double check with the support guys & girls as well 🤔 as its likely I've missed something. I thought it asks upon the first outbound email in the session and then its retained until the software is closed.

    @debbiemeryl

    Just to clarify, is the issue that you're not aware of the password to the email account itself? Has there been a change to the credentials for the email account you're using eg. has someone changed or updated the password to your email account/service?

    NO I'm the only one who uses Reckon

    Just to clarify, I'm not referring to the Reckon Accounts software but rather the email account.

    From the info that has been provided so far the cause of this is pointing back to the email account rather than a problem in the Reckon software itself. But to confirm this, please try and login to your email account/service outside of Reckon Accounts ie. if you're using a Hotmail/Outlook email address then login to the Hotmail/Outlook webmail service itself on your browser and confirm whether you're able to do so successfully.

    Yes I am able to login to my email address on my computer outlook, but not on the webmail service is that because this is a business email
