Entitlements while on portable long service leave (coinvest/leaveplus)

We contribute to Leaveplus (previously coinvest) for employees' LSL and Leaveplus then pays the LSL direct to the employee.

However, while on LSL the employee is still entitled to superannuation (which Leaveplus does not pay), and still accrues annual & personal leave.

How do I do this in Accounts Hosted so it will automatically keep calculating the super & accruing the other leave given that I don't need to process their usual pays?

To accrue automatically, you'll need to still process a Paycheque. The system doesn't allow $ 0.00 Payroll Items that result in a $ 0.00 net pay, however it WILL accept amounts that result in a $ 0.00 calculation.

I would create both a new Addition & new Deduction Payroll Item. The Addition will calculate Super & Leave entitlements (with no Taxes selected), the Deduction will not.

On the Paycheque, you'll need to have both lines - The Addition will create the Super & Leave accruals & the deduction will remove the $ amounts only, creating a $ 0.00 net Paycheque ☺️

Hello, hoping you can help me regarding similar to the above:

We contribute to Leaveplus (previously coinvest) for employees' LSL and Leaveplus then pays the LSL direct to the employee minus the tax.

However, while on LSL the employee is still entitled to superannuation (which Leaveplus does not pay), and i had to. In this instance all i need to do is to put the $ value into RECKON payroll of the Super to show that it has been paid.

Employee has had 30 weeks off on LSL ( paid by leave plus) , but how do i just record the super contribution as there are NO other entitlements, just the super?

If you follow the above, that will reflect what you need.

Create a new Addition-type Payroll Item to represent the GROSS amount Leaveplus is paying the employee.

Expense account > Select your applicable Wages expense account

Tax Tracking Type > None (so it doesn't report in STP)

Taxes - Ensure none are selected

Calculate based on quantity > Neither

Default rate and limit - Leave BLANK

Inclusions > Select All (This is to generate the super amount) > Finish

Now create a corresponding Deduction Payroll Item to offset it:

Liability account > Ensure you select the SAME account here, as per the Addition Expense account !

Tax Tracking Type > None (so it doesn't report in STP)

Taxes - Ensure none are selected

Calculate based on quantity > Neither

Gross vs. net > gross pay

Default rate and limit - Leave BLANK > Finish

Create the Paycheque with the relevant gross Addition amount & corresponding Deduction - The super will calculate as normal, on the Addition 😊 :

As mentioned above, you can't post gross pay of $ 0.00 but you can have a resulting $ 0.00 NET Paycheque 😁

Thank you for the answer, i actually cant find on my Recon Payroll the items you are talking about. I only have the basic program as my Husband is the only one that draws a wage (but the ATO still insist i use software to record this wage to them), so basically my only choice is

New Pay Run

then it goes to Pay date - pay period - start and end- select employees

Pay Items Options which have 3 to choose from:

Use pay items from Employees pay set up, Use pay items from Employees last pay run or Create empty pay run and add items manually.

I hope this makes sense as to which software i am using and if you cant help, thank you anyway.
