How do you add a Work Experience Student into Reckon so that you can pay them

Because a work experience student is only paid a minimal amount, say $50 per week ( or whatever you consider to be a fair thing) do you just write a cheque to them?

Good to hear π
In that case, I would set her up as an "Other Name" type & pay her via a Chq (Setting up as that name type allows you to convert her to an Employee down the track if you need to)
Make sure you use NCF as the tax code & DON'T post to your normal Wages account as this will throw out your payroll figures! Instead, I would create a separate Expense account (called "Work Exp Costs" for example) π

Hi @Burnbaby
Depending on the specific circumstances, they may still be considered an employee π¬ so I'd recommend looking into that first to ensure the business is protected from any adverse repercussions.
You can find more info on the Fair Work sites - This factsheet below should also help π

I have read the Fair Work document and it is a vocational employment and we can choose to pay her so she is not an employee. See below screenshot:-
"Is there an employment relationship? Where an unpaid work arrangement is not a vocational placement, the arrangement can only be lawful if no employment relationship exists".
So my question still stands, how do I set her up in Reckon to pay her? Do I just write a cheque to her like I was paying a bill? Do I set her up as a supplier?
