MFA Query

Hi - once i set up MFA initialy all was well but now - it is asking for MFA authentication every couple of days and now today when Ive been logged out whilst doing a back up, it now says use Authenticator to verify instead of my mobile. What is going on - this is a nightmare.

    Hi @Pivacadmin,

    Sorry to hear that. For the MFA, It will be challenged once in a 24 hour. The MFA code should send to the method you selected. What did you initially setup MFA with? (SMS or Authenticator app)?

    Originally set up with SMS but now asking for Authenticator App. Why is is now asking every 24hours - I thought it was once a month????? Ridiculous and if Im away or sick and boss goes to log in, then i get the code and have to ring him and give it to him

    Hi @Pivacadmin ,

    Before 15th May, MFA is not yet mandatory therefore it setup to challenge you every 30 days. However, After 15th May, MFA is mandatory for enhanced security and it will be challenge you every 24 hours.

    If you logged in Reckon Hosted, Can you please confirm that MFA still setup under you phone number?

    Log into Reckon Accounts Hosted โ†’ Go to Login Security Settings (MFA)

    Yes it is set up with my mobile. So after May 15 - every time I log into Reckon in a 24hrs period (so every day) it will ask me for a code? So why has it just started since Wednesday 22nd May? In the event that I am away sick and someone else logs in then Im going to get the code which I then have to ring into the office and send through the code - is that correct? And I go on holidays overseas - what then?? Do I have to revoke the MFA and re-do it with a new person mobile and then when I come back, revoke that one and re-do for mine??

    There was a slight issue where some users who had setup MFA didn't receive a MFA challenge after the 24 hour period once it became mandatory on May 15. This has been resolved and an MFA prompt will appear once in a 24 hour period per device/browser as it should have from the 15th.
