I have an employee on Workcover and I paid them the 'minimum' pay for two weeks until I received the average weekly earnings confirmation from Workcover. I now how this information. Do I process a 'separate' payrun to correct the pay or 'unlock' existing pays and process that way? Not sure with STP requirements which is the correct way to do it.

I would work out what the figures should have been Gross and tax, and add the difference to the next pay

    Morning @Vicki_10862349

In addition to what @Kris_Williams mentioned.

You can also fix this in the same pay run, you can unlock the pay cheque, make required changes and lock the pay run.

If you have already submitted STP to ATO, after correcting the pay cheque, you are required to re-submit the pay cheque as an Update event and then it will overwrite your previous pay cheque and update the figures with ATO.

I hope this helps. Thank you!

Just as a side note … if you'll be paying this employee again, it will automatically update from your next STP submission anyway as STP doesn't report each pay run's specific amounts, it simply updates YTD balances each time 😊
