Update STP2 Bug salary sacrifice
Hi there
I see there was a Reckon update in August last year for the STP2 reporting incorrectly Salary sacrifice in the Gross.
As I didn't do this update I'm thinking that the STP2 finalization file will also be incorrect.
To fix this can I just update Reckon to the 2024/2025 version, run the finalisation for 2023/2024 payroll year, or do I need to uninstall the 2023/2024 Reckon version then reinstall the August file update, run the STP2 Finalisation for 2023/2024, then update to Reckon 2024/2025?
Hope that makes sense 😀

Dear @Bakerc ,
This issue was mostly resolved via a workaround.
You can find this fix here:
While some of the terminology is a little outdated, this workaround will correctly setup SalSac to RESC.
Keep in mind: if you are checking the Payment Summaries to Print/Email, they will not pick up the SalSac figure due to the new STP Phase 2 Tax Tracking Type, but it will appear accurately in the STP/EOFY reporting.

Thanks Alexander
I don't think this was the answer I'm looking for.
Basically can I upgrade to the new version of Reckon and run a prior year STP2finalisation.
We have had the whole year on STP2, so I'm thinking that it should be okay.

I usually install the new version before I uninstall the old one, of any program, just as a precaution.
I believe your process will work1 -
I do know with Reckon Hosted you can definitely upgrade and then run the 2024 finalisation, so I believe the same would apply to Desktop

Thank you all
I've updated Reckon to 2024 and ran the EOY finalisation again for 2023/2024 year and seems to be okay, the total of the exported file from Reckon agrees to what I should have.
When I look at the details on the GovConnect however they are exactly the same as prior to the upgrade, so hopefully it is all good.
Many thanks

yes the upgrade wouldn’t have changed anything
