MFA codes not being accepted

Is anyone else having trouble logging in to Payroll? It keeps sending a code but will not accept it. I have tried about 15 times and no luck.
Thanks

Hi @Coorarabox1
Are you using SMS or an authenticator app for your MFA codes?
Are you signing in directly from https://payroll.reckon.com/ or are you going through https://portal.reckon.com/ to access Reckon Payroll?

Hi Rav β¦ Have been signing in the same way for months via https://payroll.com/ and was ready to finally do my EOFY sumission. The codes come through by sms.

Hi guys, just to quickly chime in on this.
I notice that Reckon have started sending two codes at the same time for the last week?

@Coorarabox1 Thanks for that Judi. Do the codes come through pretty quickly after you try logging in or do you have to wait several minutes before the text arrives with the code?
Can I get you to switch your phone to flight mode for 2-3 minutes and after that time switch flight mode back off. That will force your phone to poll your network provider for any messages that are queued etc.
After that, try logging in and enter your MFA code as soon as it arrives. I believe the code is only valid for 2-3 minutes from the time its requested.
Is that happening consistently? ie. each and every time you login a SMS is coming through twice? If so, does that SMS have the same MFA code in the message?

Hi Rav, it has been different codes each time. Just logged in again and it's now issuing only one code. The gremlins must be reading this thread!

Haha hopefully they are and those gremlins will stay away moving forward @Mark_9171963
Sing out if you notice anything like this happening again.

Well, finally Rav β¦. I've pressed the submit button on the EOFY report and after a lot of juggling I think it's okay. Otherwise I'm "retiring"! Cheers and thanks so much for all of your help with this.

Hi Rav, just a refresh on this.
MFA's via SMS are still sending two codes at the same time. Please refer to screnshot below which represent two login requests today, so received 2 Γ 2 codes. Sometimes the first one works and then sometimes the last one is the one.

That certainly is an odd one and thanks for the screenshot @Mark_9171963
This is happening when you login to your Hosted account at https://hosted.reckon.com/ correct?
To be entirely honest, I'm not quite sure what's going on there but my first recommendation would be to revoke that existing MFA from your account (info here) and then set it back up again and hopefully that clears this.
If it still continues after doing that though, please let me know.

Hi Rav,
It occurs when I log into Reckon Payroll.

Apologies @Mark_9171963, not sure what I was thinking there π«
Ok, so with Reckon Payroll, can I get you to do this -
STEP 1
Head over to https://portal.reckon.com/ and sign in with your existing Reckon Payroll login credentials.
STEP 2
Click on the Profile
STEP 3
Scroll to the Multi-Factor Authentication section at the bottom of the page
STEP 4
Revoke the existing Multi-Factor Authentication that is currently enabled by clicking the revoke button as pictured above.
You will be presented with the option to revoke the existing authentication using either the code sent to the existing phone number OR the Recovery PIN if you have previously securely saved it.
Enter the MFA code or Recovery PIN and your existing authentication will be revoked from your account.
STEP 5
Log back in to Reckon Payroll as you do normally and you'll be prompted to setup MFA again. Enter your phone number and just follow the prompts to setup MFA again on your account.
Once that is done, see how you go and let me know if the same behaviour continues where 2 codes are delivered upon login.

Thanks so much RAV, will do first thing Monday.

Hi Rav, just revoked the MFA and then setup a new one as per above.
Still getting the two sms codes at the same time.
