Super & Leave Accruals - Workcover

Hi,

We have an employee who is currently being paid by Workcover for approximately 3 months and we need to accrue and pay super. Is there a way we can record super via Payroll, as I tried, and it wouldn't accept as no earnings are recorded.

    Hi Karina_9242901,

    Can you check if the Item Work Cover is set to accrue leave and attract super? This feature will automatically calculate super in the paycheque.

    I believe you have to enter the payroll details into Reckon. They should have given you the breakdown of the amount, gross and tax. So what goes out via Payroll should equal the income you are receiving, I usually put that to an income account called Workers comp received

    If you are receiving the payments & on-paying these amounts to the employee, make sure you are using a separate Payroll Item (eg a new Hourly one called "Workcover") as Workers Comp payments that you make are now reported - separately for both "working" & "non-working" employees - for STP2.

    You would then set this "Workcover" Payroll Item up with the Super(s) ticked in the Inclusions window (as per klaura's screenshot)

    NOTE: Employees who are off work on Workers Comp don't typically accrue super as the payment is only considered OTE if they are actually working.

    Hi All,

    Under our award while the employee is being paid by Workcover for 3 months, we have to continue to pay his superannuation and accrue leave. I can adjust the leave balances in the employee card, but I need to record the superannuation for STP & Clearing House, as we are obligated.

    Any Suggestion on the super accrual.
