What the best way to share your Reckon One book?

You can work together with other people, like your accountant, bookkeeper, or your staff, by simply sharing a book in Reckon One.

However we've found that many users are still unsure on how to share their Reckon One book with another user. Even when it's shared, we still experience issues like limited access or inability to access Reckon Payroll. It happens sometimes whether you work as an accountant, bookkeeper, or sometime business owners who wanted access to the Reckon One book or Reckon Payroll.

Some pointers to assist you in successfully sharing your book

  1. Create a Reckon Account: Ensure that the person you’re sharing the book with has their own Reckon account. Its free to create an account here on the Reckon Customer Portal.
  2. Access Permissions: Select the degree of access you wish to allow. You can assign users varying roles in Reckon One, allowing them to have either full access or restricted access according to their role. Check out our help article HERE for detailed info.
  3. Type of user. The user who needs access is a user like bookkeeper, accountant or a Reckon Partner.

There are 2 different ways you can share your Reckon One book..

Share with another user

This process will let you share a particular Reckon One book. If you are a business owner who is handling several companies, this will allow you to share a particular book to another user like a bookkeeper or accountant.

1) Login to the portal as an Administrator.

2) Select Reckon One under My Products

3) You will see your book and vertical ellipses button next to the book name. Click on it, and click on Share With

4) Enter the ID/Email address of the user and click on share

5) Once shared, you will then get the prompt to select the permissions for this user. Select the appropriate permission and save.

Accessing a shared book

If someone has shared a book with you, you can easily access it by clicking on the Shared with Me tab in the Reckon Portal.

Sharing your book with a Reckon Partner

Use this option if you want to share your book with a registered Partner with Reckon.

Once shared, the Partner can then edit the permission on the left navigation panel under the Partners menu.
