How to change employee name due to typo

Hi

We have an employee who's name has been spelt wrong. It has an i instead of u. I tried changing it in the profile but it won't let me. How do we fix it up

    Hi @Leanne_7663246,

    Quick question, are you currently logged in as an administrator user in Reckon Accounts Hosted?

    If you are not the admin of the company file, you will not be able to modify the employee usernames. You will need to login as the admin of the company file and click on the employees record and go to the personal tab to adjust the name.

    I have just tried it on mine and. under the personal info tab it all seems to work OK.

    Thanks Lucas and Gerry. I tried logging in as admin and still doesn't work. Its strange as I am sure I have updated stuff before like that. It says the following

    Hi @Leanne_7663246,

    Do you happen to have another employee with the same name as it might be attempting to merge the employees together?

    However, it may also be due to having Payroll transactions already on the employee and will not allow you to change it.

    ah you are amazing Lucas. I don't normally use this company file but was filling in for staff on leave. Turns out there was an non active employee with the same name. I deleted the time sheets against it and update the spelling and all good now.
