Forgotten password for Reckon Home & Business
I cannot log in to Reckon Home & Business. Has never asked me for a p/w for forever. I can't remember the p/w. Have tried my Reckon Customer ID and Pin. None of these work.

I've tried every password that I could maybe use with no luck. Password must have been set when Quick Books was installed.

Try going back to a previous backup and see if the same issue occurs.
The password is something that you must have set

Unfortunately, no that did not help.

Keep going back to older backups until you find one that doesn't have a password.

Try your passowrd with caps lock on in case it was accidentally on when you accidentally set it. Did you have a password on transactions previously? Maybe it's the same one?
Good luck

I went back to a file in 2020. It let me straight in so I changed the password. Now I can only open that file with the new password. Still can't get into the latest one using the new password.

Can anyone give me the steps to either find my old password or reset a new password on the current file.

I have tried everything that is suggested to find my password or to reset a new one and still unable to open the company file. I need step by step assistance or a call from the recovery data team to help me with this issue. My email is kbarrett4@bigpond - Mobile 0438 331265

Hi @1580276
Unfortunately, there's no ability for us to know what the password is or remove any passwords that have been set on a file used with the Reckon Personal Range software.
If you're saying that you are not normally prompted to enter any password ie. you have recently been successfully logging in to the file without requiring a password and/or you had not set any password then the most likely reason for a password prompt to appear is a damaged file. Essentially the application cannot recognise the file at all or cannot read the area of the file that would normally indicate whether a file has a password set.
An option could be to locate any and all instances of a QDF data file (along with its supplementary files), if there are multiple instances of QDF files with similar or identical names in multiple locations, then it is possible that maybe one of them is relatively current and does not require a password which you could try.
Aside from that, then finding and using a previous backup where the password was not set as suggested above, is an option as well.

Somehow I have managed to get into a file to 30th June this year. I am now reluctant to close it down in case I cannot get back in to it. How do I go about setting a password or changing the password. If I can get back in to that file I will not lose too much data.
