Hi everyone,

Just reaching out with some important, and really exciting, info regarding Reckon Payroll.

Back in September, we shared news about changes to the sign-in screen and our efforts to enhance navigation within Reckon Payroll. Coming very soon.. Reckon Payroll will be unified with Reckon One to create a much more seamless experience!

Reckon Payroll will be integrated with Reckon One!

We’ve heard your feedback that switching between Reckon One and Reckon Payroll can be a clunky experience. In response, we will be pulling Reckon Payroll back into Reckon One!

This integration has been designed to save you time and effort, allowing you to complete all your Reckon One tasks in a single platform. You’ll no longer need to switch between Reckon Payroll and Reckon One to process pay runs or access payroll reports.

Here's what you can expect:

✨ One Unified Platform: Access all payroll and accounting features directly within Reckon One.

✨ Simplified Pay Runs: Seamlessly process pay runs without switching between platforms.

✨ Consolidated Reports: All payroll and accounting reports will be in one place for added convenience.

✨ Quick Access to Favourites: Set up favourite reports for easy access via the navigation menu.

What you need to do

You don’t need to do anything! We’ll post an announcement here on the Reckon Community with more details on the release very soon.

Hi Rav, how will this affect someone who doesn’t need all the accounting stuff? I only need the STP reporting side of things for the payroll. Is it going to make it more expensive to use?

    Hey @Alexis_8205419

    Good questions 🙂

If you're only using payroll that's totally ok, you can certainly still continue do so.

As a Reckon Payroll user, you currently already have access to Reckon One's functionality in conjunction with Reckon Payroll, this upgrade is more about bringing the two together into one cohesive platform to make things much more streamlined.

Also, no there are no changes to your subscription with this upcoming upgrade 🙂

Let me know if you have any more questions around this.

    Cheers

    Hi @TGeorge

You can continue to use payroll as you are now. Its just going to be integrated into Reckon One, (which as a Reckon Payroll user you also have access to) so that everything is in one place.

If you don't want to use any of the Reckon One functionality outside of payroll, then you certainly don't have to and just use payroll.

Just to clarify though, do you mean you use Reckon Payroll (for payroll) and then a separate software, perhaps Reckon Accounts Desktop(?) for accounting related tasks? Is there any particular reason for that?

Yes reckon accounts desktop, and reckon payroll. I have been using desktop for 28 years and have not really considered needing to alter, up until online payroll I was using the payroll premium desk top version

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying that @TGeorge, awesome to hear you're such a long-time user of Reckon Accounts! 🙌

You'll still be able to use payroll as you are now, you'll just notice access to a bit more features and functionality once Reckon Payroll is integrated in Reckon One but as mentioned, you don't need to use any of it if not relevant for you.

@TGeorge Lol, I do exactly the same thing george. Desktop for accounting and point of sale and payroll app to report wages to ATO.

    I'm similar to you both too @Alexis_8205419 & @TGeorge.

I now use Reckon Payroll (was using Payroll Premier desktop) but did the transition and it's starting to grow on me. I like the idea of it being online now with regular updates but hate the fact you cant do custom reporting like you could in the Desktop version.

With bookkeeping, i still use (and much prefer) this desktop version for some of my files:

I was told this needed to migrate over - as it was being discontinued - is that correct Rav?

    Hi @Kali

I think that is more related that specific older 2023 edition of Reckon Accounts which has now expired. If you have an active subscription for Reckon Accounts you can either obtain the current 2024 edition of Reckon Accounts Desktop, or if not, then yes you could migrate that file to Reckon One.
