How to edit the Description Data field on a customised payslip template?

Help, I've got my customised payslip looking almost great. I can see how to change the header on the Description Labels but want to make changes to the Data field for Description.

Ideally I want to remove the "Current" Super to the Footer where I have the Super details (including YTD).

Is there a way to edit the Data field?

Hi a4padmin,

To customize template you can simply do so by edit a template:

Click on the Lists menu
Select Templates
Use the mouse right-click on a specific template to bring up the context menu, then select Edit Template
Click on the Additional Customisation or the Layout Designer buttons.

you can make changes to the existing template styles as you prefer.

Thanks Nick, I have done all that to create my customised template. The trouble I have is doesn't appear that the actual Description Data field can be edited. I was hoping I'm missing something and there is a way?

What is it you're looking to substitute into that field?

Depending on what it is you might be better placed at removing it and adding in a custom data field or a custom text field.

Hi @a4padmin,

If you would like to make additional edits after you have opened the pay-slip template, you can click on the layout designer to further customize your pay-slip template. Once you are in the layout designer section, you will be able to add, edit, or delete data fields according to your requirements. I have also attached an image for your convenience.

The default "Data field" for the "Description" includes the Superannuation in current pay and YTD.

My payslip template has the Superannuation details in the Footer - Super Fund Name & YTD Contribution. I'd like the super for each pay to be in the footer and not in the "Description".

Is there a way to alter the default "data field" for "description"?

@a4padmin Not sure if you're referring to one of the default templates or a custom one ?

The custom Payslip does have that section at the bottom as standard however each Payroll Item line displays in the Description so it also shows the Super ones there too.

Is there a particular reason why you're using a custom one rather than just the default Payslips ? I ask that because you may prefer the layout of those instead 😊

Thanks Shaz, we have opted for custom payslip to add our business logo and we feel it is easier to read.

Is there a way to edit the Payroll Items that are listed in the Description Data field? Ideally, I'd like to remove the super from the Description and put all the super details together in the Footer.

On the custom Payslip, each Payroll Item displays as a separate line in the Description box, so unfortunately not 😬

Although you can’t add a logo to them, all the default Payslips (there are 3 format types to choose from) still show your business details & these display as per your preference so I’d recommend checking those out 😁
