How to use my 2025 Reckon Accounts Upgrade.

Firstly, I am not a Reckon Accounts Business (Desktop) member and have never been in this category. I am just a person trying to keep our family expenses etc. in order.

I recently upgraded to the 2026 Programme. Since doing so, I spent half an hour or so on the phone trying to resolve my problem without success. I have written e-mails without success. I hope your area can achieve success.

The programme is installed but I have had no luck in accessing my last back-up to continue using. I am receiving messages that either the file or disc id not ready. I tried again about an hour ago but now I receive a message 'Reckon Accounts is unable to find a valid licence for this computer' giving a number of reasons this might be happening and finishes with 'You will need to contact Reckon to update your licence details. Do you want to do that now?' To which I respond with Yes. I go through the requirements on the "Reckon Accounts Activation Update." I feel as though I am going around incircles and achieving nothing. Please help before I go bonkers. All I want to do is be able to use my programme.

    Which Reckon Accounts program are you using … "… Business", "… Personal Plus" or "… Home & Business" ?

    What software are you actually using Colin?

    Reckon Accounts 2025 was only just released so I doubt you've installed a 2026 edition.

    Just to clarify, when you say you're not a Reckon Accounts Business member, does that mean your post is not related to that specific software? Your previous posts look to have been related to the Personal Plus software which is a separate, unrelated software to Reckon Accounts Business (Desktop).

    Can you please confirm.

    Also - there is no 2026 edition of either software, so can you please confirm which version you have recently upgraded to and installed.

    Lastly, what is the process you are going through in trying to open your backup file in the software? Can you please specify the steps.

    I am not a business, I am just me. I used that particular area as I could not find the Personal area. Yes! I blundered, I meant to say 2025.

    At the moment I am not following any steps as I am not getting past the 'Reckon Accounts Activation Update'.

    Which Reckon software are you using right now which you're having issues with?

    Is it Personal Plus?

    I was visualising about never again being able to use my Reckon Accounts V31. Just now, I have been speaking with Gerry Winter and he was able to fix my problem and now everything is going swimmingly. I cannot thank Gerry enough for his cool head and being able to fix my problem. If it was possible, I would award him a 'Gold Star'.
