Hi Team,

We had a casual employee on our books but he didn't work in the last financial. His details were archived in January of this year as we terminated his employment.

His details appear on the payroll summary for the year ending 30 June 2025 but nil dollar figures.

In the FY2024-25 finalisation report, I noticed he's not listed on this. Is this correct? I am guessing as he wasn't paid anything, there's nothing to declare to the ATO.

Thank you.

    Hi @JEN ,

    Yes, your understanding is correct.

If a casual employee was on your books but did not receive any payments during the financial year, and their STP records show nil dollar figures. They will appear in payroll summaries for internal reporting purposes, often showing zero amounts but they will not appear in the STP EOFY finalisation report submitted to the ATO, because there is no income to declare for that financial year.
ATO requires finalisation declarations only for employees who were paid and reported through STP during the financial year. Since this employee had no payments, there's nothing to finalise or declare.

If you’ve archived their details and confirmed no payments were made, then their exclusion from the finalisation report is expected.

    Hope this answers your query.

    Regards,

    Hi @Reeta

I thought I would double check before sending the EOFY report and many thanks for answering my question so quickly.
