Have you ever needed to make adjustments to an employee's leave balance?
In this #TipTuesday, lets take a look at Reckon One's all-new leave adjustment feature!
You now have a dedicated leave adjustment screen within an employee's profile which allows you to:
- Create leave balance adjustments for specific leave types
- Apply an effective date to each adjustment
- Edit or delete existing adjustment entries
How do I adjust an employee's leave balance?
Head into an employee's profile âĄī¸ Click the Leave tab
On the employee's current leave balance, a new Adjust Balance option is now available. This option allows you to adjust the balance of applicable leave items and apply an effective date to each entry.
- To create a new adjustment, click the Add Adjustment button.
- Select the leave item you're adjusting.
- Enter the number of hours you'd like to change the leave balance by, for example to add an additional 8.5 hours simply enter 8.5. Or if you'd like to deduct 8.5 hours, enter -8.5.
- Enter the Effective Date for when this adjustment takes place.
- Click Save
Why is this important?
- Leave adjustments now apply based on effective dates which ensures payslips and reporting reflect correct historical balances.
- Instead of overriding balances which was required previously, you can now now manage changes through specific adjustment entries which allows you to keep track of changes.
- All leave balance changes including historical overrides actioned before this feature became available are now visible and tracked, improving transparency.
