FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Reckon sells Accountants Group to MYOB

WHAT IS CHANGING?
There are no changes to Reckon customers who use the long-standing business solutions such as Reckon Accounts, Reckon One, Reckon Hosted, Reckon Personal, Reckon POS or Reckon Loans.

The Reckon Business Group that develops and supports Reckon One, Reckon Accounts Hosted, Reckon Desktop products, Reckon Loans, will operate as usual.

MYOB have acquired the assets to a separate group within Reckon, that specialises in Accounting Practice Management which includes the Reckon APS, Reckon Elite, and Reckon Docs suite of products. This means MYOB will be the new owner and will directly manage future development and enhancements.
With this change, Reckon will now be able to focus purely on our Partners and SME market with our current solutions and exciting new solutions coming in the New Year. More detail to come!

Worst news ever. Sure it looks rosey now, but wait a few years. MYOB have screwed every other software they have bought out. Sadly, I expect they will screw Reckon as well in time. Such a shame, it was the best alternative to MYOB, soon it will be merged, and wiped out for some MYOB garbage.

Very nervous about this "little news item" which I just noticed. I been using, and  on relying on Quicken/Reckon Personal Plus for my personal financial records, investments, management and tax going back to 1980's! So I do hope the comments above are unwarranted?!

    Hi David,
Rest assured, there is no change at all for the Reckon Personal range.
Reckon Personal falls within the Business Group and as such is not part of the Accountant's Group which is the division sold to MYOB.

So what 'enhancements' have you been able to achieve  in the 2 months since divesting  your 'Accountants Group'?
As a Small Business I find Reckon to be totally client dis-orientated!!

Very sorry to hear you feel that way John.

In regard to the Accountant's Group sale, this is still in process at the moment, however to answer your question from what I can recall on the spot, since this announcement we've had our 38th release of Reckon One for our Australian, New Zealand & UK iterations, several hotfixes, update to the Reckon One mobile app to incorporate Single Sign On (SSO), an environment update to Reckon Accounts Hosted (NZ) which not only improves performance but also introduces streamlined workflow processes for printing, removal of the clipboard and other performance improvements. There's certainly more to come as we've got a lot more in the pipeline.

If there are any concerns that you need help with, feel free to get in touch.

    Cheers
    Rav
