Accounts Hosted Back up

One of the most annoying things is that to do a backup in Reckon Accounts Hosted you have to go into Single User Mode and, of course, the program remembers that it was last used in Single User Mode. So every day you have to set it up in Multi user mode - I know, its not a big issue, but I always believe that computers are designed to make our life easier and there is generally no limit to what they can do. Two questions;

Does reckon do an automatic backup of my data file every night - if yes, do I really need to do a backup at the end of the day?

Is it possible that the program can automatically default to multi user when it starts up first thing in the morning. maybe a check box under Username and Password that selects 'Start up in Multi user or Single user'?

    In answer to your question "Does reckon do an automatic backup of my data file every night - if yes, do I really need to do a backup at the end of the day?", I believe the answer to be yes.

    However my very strong recommendation is that you continue your current process of backing up and MOST IMPORTANTLY downloading the backed up file to your own computer/server.

    This means that, heaven forbid and Reckon falls over, you always have access to a copy of your file. Good data management means that you do not store your live files and back up files in the same place.

    We perform Reckon Accounts Hosted infrastructure backups in the case of any catastrophic failures with the overall service ie. for disaster recovery purposes. This is completely separate to the backup process that is performed on the company file within the software itself and is not be considered as an option to obtain a previous copy of your data.

    There is some sound advice from @Bruce above which I can only echo, I cannot stress enough the importance of performing regular backups. These are the only source of reliance if you need to rollback to a previous version of your file and should be completed often. As also mentioned, its also a very good idea to download a copy to your local PC or perhaps a cloud service like Dropbox, Google Drive etc if you use them so that you always have the latest version/copy on hand in a different location.

    Unfortunately its not possible to switch back to multi-user automatically or via a schedule etc. It must be performed manually.

    @Bob Little

    Although multi-user isn't automatic, you can see it as a checkbox option when you open your company file (although I do believe this is only when selecting & opening from the Q drive):
