Hi Rav,

I am trying to access the old Payroll Premier software to print off some old reports for the Accountant/ATO and the software will no longer open and the following error message is appearing:

Is it just a matter of reinstalling the software again - I'm hoping it's still available from the downloads page?

The ATO requires data from 2018 to 2021.

    Hi Kali

Payroll Premier is no longer available for activation as its now been fully decommissioned with the upgrade to Reckon Payroll.

What data are you looking to obtain specifically for the ATO? STP submission data is available in GovConnect.

    Hi Rav,

They require payroll reports for the following periods:

    • 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019,
    • 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020,
    • 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021; and
    • 1 July 2021 to 30 November 2021.

I have the data file(s) - surely a read only software should still be able to access for audit purposes?

We need to keep employee payroll data for 7 years?

    Hi Kali,

I am a previous Payroll Premier user and I just logged into our old software without any trouble.

You are right that the software should still be available for read only purposes. I wonder if your data file is possibly corrupted?

Hopefully you can sort out this issue.

    Hi Jen,

Thanks so much for your comment and feedback… and that's very interesting that you didn't have any issues. @Rav any further insights on this?

    You're welcome, Kali.

I remember that there was a software update for (2023/2024) Payroll Premier I had to do prior to when we had to switch over to STP 2 in September 2023. The file name was qpv32 in the C:drive. Do you remember this update? I'm not saying this has anything to do with your software issue but maybe one of the Dev team could answer this.

It's very strange you can't access your old software yet I can.

    Good luck.

    Hi Jen,

Yes, I did install QPRollV32 prior to the switch - thanks for the thought though.

Do you know if it's available to reinstall anywhere? You used to be able to log in and download old software - but cannot find them anymore!?

    Hi Kali,

I don't know where you could install the old software. I used to back up Payroll Premier every week so I had a copy of the saved file to use in the event the Payroll Premier app file corrupted and I could reinstall it.

Hopefully a Reckon Dev Team member will offer you a solution to your problem soon.

Haha i did that too! I never trusted it.

The error im getting is the actual software is corrupt not the data file as such so need to reinstall the actual program.

Thanks so much for your help.

    Hi Rav,

I never heard back from you on this and the ATO are pushing me for the info.

I also have another situation now where i need to average hours over the last 3 year.

Can you please advise how i get access to the old software/reports to enable me to do such calculations?

    Hi Kali,

I'm sorry to say but I've been advised that Payroll Premier is fully decommissioned, no longer available and cannot be reactivated.

    Hi Rav,

This is a major problem, In Australia, we're required to keep time and wage details for 7 years; readily accessible to Fair Work Australia and ATO when requested.

How do you suggest we do this when you have decommissioned the software? I understand if we can no longer use the software but it needs to still be accessible to obtain reports from in a read-only capacity.

How does Reckon suggest we do LSL calculations for staff whose hours fluctuate?

@Rav I have two more employees requiring LSL calculations (hours averaged over the last 3 years) - I need access to these reports ASAP.

It's very strange others can still access the old software; however, I cannot? See above.

Can you please provide an update ASAP - data is required to be kept for 7 years - I require access to these reports ASAP.

I have the same issue, I actually have the download program and all I need is a licence key to be able to get in but I don't have the licence key saved. A read only option would really be appreciated by very long term Reckon users

    Hi Carol,

Give technical support a call - they helped me out by reinstalling the software and providing the license key. They agreed we should still definitely have read only access.

I tried that this morning and was told no could not do a licence key no matter what - shame I didn't get the same person you did.
