STP accidentally lodged twice

Hi, I have accidentally lodged an STP file twice, instead of sending the corrected file as an updated event (only 1 out of 5 paid was an error), it was sent as a new pay event. Should I re send the (corrected) file as an updated event, will that cancel out the 2 already lodged on that day, or is it best to leave it and not submit the next pay file to get the payroll balances correct for the end of year. At the moment the STP has both files as a payment. Thanks, Rebecca

    Hi @Rebecca_7639009

STP is reported on a year to date basis only when it comes to employee balances so your second submission won't have made any difference to their balances.

It will however be reflected on the ATO's prefill on the employer side of things such as BAS. There's some info on this including how to make any corrections on the ATO prefill here - #TipTuesday - What's in an STP submission? 💻
