Urgent STP Reporting Errors – Assistance Required

Hi,

While reconciling the Payroll Summary Report against the EOFY STP report, I noticed a discrepancy in one employee’s gross wages — out by $96.15. I resubmitted the STP file last night for the relevant pay period, but the employee’s gross amount didn’t update on the EOFY STP finalisation screen.

I contacted support this morning and, after a lengthy and frustrating call, the issue was apparently resolved with a manual adjustment on your end.

However, I’ve now run a fresh pay summary for THIS financial year and identified two new issues:

  1. An employee who has not been paid this financial year is now appearing in the report with a negative amount (recurring deduction set up for them)
  2. The employee with the original issue is now showing as having been paid twice.

Given the timing and importance of EOFY finalisation, this is extremely frustrating. Can someone please call me as soon as possible to resolve these issues?

    Hi @Kali

    I've been taking a look at this and trying to piece together what's been happening here, I might need you to fill in some details I might be missing but here's my initial observations;

An employee who has not been paid this financial year is now appearing in the report with a negative amount (recurring deduction set up for them)

I can see that the specific employee in question on the above is included in a draft pay run dated 7 July 2025 with zero pay and only a deduction item for them. The Payroll Summary report includes balances from draft pay runs which is why they're appearing in the report for this financial year. If you remove that employee from the pay run or delete the draft pay run, the balances in the Payroll Summary report will recalculate.

The employee with the original issue is now showing as having been paid twice.

Need more info on the above. Which employee does this refer to and where are you seeing they have been paid twice specifically?

I've also reached out to the support team to get more info on what action was carried out on the call.

Let me know when you can

    Cheers

    Hi Rav,

Thanks – your first note actually answered both of my queries.

I didn’t realise a draft run could impact the reports since the figures hadn’t been finalised — lesson learnt!

    Thanks for your time.
