Access to updated Reckon File


Hello, we have updated our RA desktop enterprise to the latest version. We have 2 users that access the same computer. When the second user has tried to log into the reckon file, it comes up with a message. "cannot open this company file because the file has been updated to a newer version" Solution - "restore backup OR upgrade your version of RA to the latest version" The PC has the latest version and has been operating with user 1.
Why is this happening and how do we rectify this issue. I don't understand why switching users has caused this issue?? Appreciate your help.

if the file has been updated to 2025 version opening it in 2024 will cause this. Go to Control Panel and log off remote sessions and then login again, make sure you only open 2025 version

It sounds like both versions of the desktop software are still currently installed.
And the person that cannot access the upgraded data file is launching the older version software.
Have both users confirm the exact product name of the icon they are using to launch the software.
One of they may mention the year "2024" which is the older version, whilst the newer version does not mention the year at all.
Example: "Reckon Account Premier 2024" or "Reckon Accounts Premier"

I’m sorry if I confused you I thought it was Hosted not Desktop. Same problem but you are clicking on the wrong icon

Hi Kris, Thank you, you are correct. The user was clicking on a shortcut to the older version. All fixed now.
