RDO hours are accruing correctly

Hi,

We have been having issues with the setting for RDOS.

It has been set up in employees - Leave - edit RDO as " accrural period" 'per pay' and 'per time' worked, but neither settings take the accrual correctly.

Unless we enter in the payrun as ordinary hours 40 hours, RDO's wont accrue and add to the leave balance each week. But in doing so the employee is receieing the extra 2hours of pay AND accruing RDO hours as well.

But if we enter 38 hours then we are having to enter the RDO times manually

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

    Hi @CuttingEdge

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

Please confirm if that's happening to all the employees or any specific employee?

When did you first experience that?

Did you made any recent changes, that you could think of causing this issue?

    Regards

    Tanvi

    Hi @CuttingEdge

Can you give me a bit more info on the setup of what your RDO item should be, specifically on the employee profile and I'll do a bit of testing.

    image.png

Specifically, give me the following for your RDO item

    • Accrual Period
    • Annual Entitlement
    • Accrual Rate (if not the default calculation based on the annual entitlement)

Also, when you're creating a pay run for the employee, is the accrual period being met in order for the RDO accrual to trigger based on the selection in the leave item?

This is what we have for the employees. We did originally have it set on 'per time worked' but this was accruing hours regardless

    Hi @CuttingEdge

I've run a little test in my own book with a Full Time employee (5 standard days worked per week at 38 standard hours per week) with a Monthly pay frequency.

The below is the RDO leave item after adding it to the employee. I couldn't replicate your accrual rate of 4 hours per pay as it wouldn't meet the annual entitlement at that rate & pay frequency.

Regardless though, here's a screenshot of the leave item with a zero balance 👇

    image.png

I then ran a pay run for the employee which resulted in an available balance for RDO leave calculating as shown below 👇

I think we might need a bit more info on your setup, specifically are you using the default RDO leave item or have you created your own custom one?

Do you have a value in the maximum accumulation field of the RDO item? If so, can you please remove any values, (including zero) so that the field is blank and then try again?

    HI, Apologies for delayed response.

it doesn't seem to matter what hours we enter for Ordinary hours - whether is be 80hrs per fortnight or 60 hours per fortnight; when we have the RDO entitlement set as 'per pay' or 'per time worked' it will 4 RDO hrs will accrue.

I have changed the setting to per annum - and then the RDOS dont accrue at all.

We have a maximum accumulation of 24hrs.

I have tested by removing the maximum field and makes no difference either
