Expand or Collapse reports in Reckon Accounts Hosted 🎉
Reckon Accounts Hosted, specifically the Contractor Edition includes the ability to expand or collapse transaction details in reports.
You may have mistakenly believed that this feature was removed in Reckon Accounts Hosted 2024, but it is simply hidden within the preferences. In previous versions, this feature was enabled by default. However, in the 2024 version, it must be enabled through the Preferences menu.
How to enable the Expand/Collapse feature
- Log in to Reckon Accounts Hosted 2024
- Navigate to Edit ➡️Preferences ➡️ Reports & Graphs ➡️ Company Preferences ➡️ Collapse Transaction
- Check the box for Collapse Transactions.
Once enabled, this option will be available in your reports, as shown below.
Functionality of the Collapse/Expand Feature
When generating a report, the figures will be displayed. Clicking on Collapse will condense the report, while clicking on Expand will reveal detailed transaction information, providing comprehensive data from the file.

An impressive aspect of this feature is that it does not affect the exported or printed reports. The sorting applied to the reports will be maintained in the exported or printed versions.

Sometimes an internet connection can be interrupted for a brief moment, this happens to me sometimes with Netflix. As it’s so brief other things aren’t affected, but it might be enough to disconnect Reckon. It wouldn’t hurt to restart the modem when it’s convenient

This message will appear if one of the following conditions are met:
- Your computer disconnected from the internet;
- You hit the idle timer's limit (1 hour without activity);
- You were logged out via the Control Panel (through Log Off Remote Sessions);
- Somebody else has logged in under your username/password;
- You logged into another account in another tab.
