STP file name

When I lodge my file, sometimes it comes up as STP##### J.son file and will save.  Other times it will come up as J.son and will not save - why is this  I was previously on desktop without issue

    Hi Janelle,
    Does this occur when you create multiple JSON files in the one session? 
    After you enter a file name into the second one that appears as .json only, does it save successfully?

    Would it not be that  .json is only an extension, and as such no actual specific file name has been shown to uniquely identify it?
