STP Pending but ATO shows Submitted

I have a file which needs to be replaced in my STP which was previously uploaded. The file says pending and therefore I cannot replace the file with a full file replacement as the pending payrun is not in the dropdown menu to be selected when I try and submit the full file replacement. The ATO Business portal shows the pending file has been submitted. So they now have an incorrect file which I cannot replace. How do I go about having the status of the file changed to submitted so that I can then replace the file with a full file replacement.

Have you tried clicking on the Detail link &/or pressing F5 to refresh it?

Sometimes the submissions can get stuck in transit which – if it’s showing as “Submitted” in the Business Portal – sounds like that could be what’s happened …..

 

Submitted STP Files – whether correct/successful or otherwise (eg “Error” status) – are unfortunately unable to be removed from the list (this is an ATO audit trail requirement) so if you’re unable to refresh the submission to reflect the Success status, you can just upload the next STP Pay run as normal. 

 

The beauty of STP is that rather than reporting each Pay run’s figures, it updates the YTD balances allowing “fixes” to be made between pay runs & automatic amendments to occur.
