We are installing Quickbooks 2005/06 on Windows 10 in Windows 7 compatibility mode. It worked on another computer on Windows 10, but not on my new computer. It is installed, but comes up with an error. We know it is an old version, but we only use it sparingly now. This is the error. Can anybody advise?

    Hi Robyn,

That snippet of the error XML you provided does not provide enough information to determine why the program is not running correctly on that particular Windows 10 computer, whilst it runs on another Windows 10 computer.

Likely there may be difference in the exact updates that are installed between one of those computers, or one may be a Windows 10 Home, whilst the other a Windows 10 Pro, or a 32 bit Windows installation vs a 64 bit Windows installation.

If you do not want to upgrade the software to the current subscription versions, then consider looking at running your older QuickBooks 2005/06 software on a Windows XP Virtual Machine.

Also note that it is not likely for the Customer Service Team to be able to ACTIVATE that older software as those older QuickBooks desktop software versions are no longer supported.
