Hello,

Currently, we run Reckon on our own server. This server is now end of life.

I am looking for guidance on moving our file(s) to the cloud.

Reckon have a few offerings,[Reckon One and Hosted] I cannot get through the sales bling to get information the technical reality of moving/migrating the file onto a platform that serves my business' future.

Are there guidance documents on the process of migration?

cheers

Simon

Depending on what version of Reckon you are currently using will help in deciding which would be best for you, most probably Hosted, call me discuss the options.

    Hi Simon,

If you are running Reckon Accounts business range software such as:

    Reckon Accounts Accounting,

    Reckon Accounts Plus

    Reckon Accounts Premier

    Reckon Accounts Enterprise

Then the easiest option would be to take up a Reckon Accounts Hosted subscription.

Hosted is essentially the same as desktop Enterprise, but run on server managed by Reckon.

Recommend you create free 30 day trial subscription.

Then upload a copy of your QBW file from your local computer to the Hosted platform and test the performance of the Hosted platform with regard to your internet provider plan.

If you are wanting to go to Reckon One, we recommend you trial it to see if it meets all your requirements.

There is no fast/easy way to 'migrate' an existing desktop data file to the Reckon One cloud platform.

While we offer migration of Lists records at no cost, migrating individual historical transactions such as invoices, payments, cheques, bills, general journals, paycheques would incur fees.

We run Reckon Accounts Premier, I am presuming Reckon Hosted is the solution.

If the interface is the same, are the underlying limitations also the same. i.e. max file sizes, and monthly routine trim and rebuild of the company files?

    Cheers

    Hi Simon

Hosted is the equivalent of the desktop “Enterprise” version (which is actually the next version up from Premier)

Therefore it looks exactly the same & has everything you’re used to PLUS more, along with greater list capacities! 😊
