Rationalising MyLive Landing Page

On our MyLive landing page in explorer we have directories for approximately 200 locations. Of these, at least 50 have been closed down and I planned to move them to a separate directory called Closed Syndicates. Alas, when I next opened a new session, they would be back.

I just want to move them out of sight, not delete them as they may need to be accessed at some point. I guess they could be archived, but cannot see how to do this either and would also need to understand the archive retrieval process as well.

We are just needing a simple process as we would like to move closed syndicates as we close them.

I contacted the Reckon Help Desk and was told to try what I have already done; create a directory and drag across the closed instances. Does not work.

We can't change the location names either, otherwise I could rename them to push them to the end of the lst.

Any bright ideas out there?

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Regards,

Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

I've edited my comment and removed the previous info it contained. I'm going to post a new comment shortly that comes directly from our Hosted team as it outlines some considerations for you to be aware of.

    Hi Geoff

The below is some advice for you to consider from our Hosted support team.

If you would like to clear the My Live Q view of any shared folders that are not actively being used, you can delete your access to the folder by following this guide -

This process will only remove your access to the folder and you will not see those folders on your Q drive however other users who have access to the folder will continue to see them. If you later need access to the folder and its contents you will need to request for the other user(s) with admin access to add you to the folder. Alternatively, if you are the admin user, you can re-share the folder from the user login who currently does have access to the folder.

There's info on sharing in the guide linked below

As an aside if you would like to copy the files within a shared folder and put it on a separate folder on the Q drive you can do so by following the steps below. (If the new location/folder is a brand new folder, please ensure you've created one in the Q drive first).

    1. Open the shared folder
    2. Right-click on the red data file and it will become highlighted
    3. Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard (IMPORTANT please do NOT use the CUT (CTRL + X) option to copy the file)
    4. Go into the folder you wish to keep this file as a record and press Ctrl + V.

Please note though once the files are copied and pasted to a nominated folder that is outside of a shared folder, they will not have any link or relationship with the files inside the shared folder and as such will be a completely separate copy to the one in a shared folder.
