What happens if I continue to use my old 2013 Reckon Accounts Business?
We have not updated our 2013 Reckon Accounts Accounting. What are the ramifications? We are a small business with only myself and husband as employees. Have trialed Reckon One hosted but do not like the format which is totally different. Our business reporting needs do not warrant Reckon Accounts Hosted and am hoping to avoid having update to Reckon Accounts Accounting 2022 desktop at an annual cost of $580.00.
Anyone else in a similar position?

Hi @MarionM
Older sunsetted versions of Reckon Accounts will no longer be able to activate so from what I understand the software will cease to function. However with that said, our Customer Service team are assisting with transitioning users of older editions across to newer supported versions, including data migration and receiving heavily discounted offers. Have you had a chat with the team as yet? If not please give us a buzz on 1800 531 840 and our team will work through some options with you

As long as you’re not using payroll and STP you can use it, but it sounds like you should be and the cheapest way would be to use Reckon One for your payroll and continue with 2013 for all other accounting features, however as Rav says the software may stop working down the track. And if you need a new computer you won’t be able to reinstall it.

@MarionM If you & your husband are company director "employees" or receive "Wages" periodically through a Partnership or Trust, you should likely be using STP which requires upgrading.
The ATO's grace period for commencing this has expired & they are seeking out non-compliers so I'd strongly advise taking the plunge & upgrading as it could cost you a lot more down the track if the ATO penalises you for non-compliance 😩
Reckon actually have an amazing half price offer on at the moment specifically for users on old versions who upgrade. If you'd like to know more & have a chat about your options/heavily discounted cost for this, feel free to get in touch with me direct 😊

Thanks for your comments Shaz Hughes, Kris Williams and Rav. Due to the introduced STP requirements, I do our payroll separately via Payroller so am STP compliant and have been since inception.
Just to clarify, I am still using Reckon 2013 having just completed 2022 EOFY figures and have been using Reckon since 2009. The 2013 program is still working perfectly and suits our needs even with having to use a different program for STP.
