Default reporting date to LAST FINANCIAL YEAR TO DATE

When I run fast reports, the report defaults to "THIS FINANCIAL YEAR" so it only gives me results as of the 1/07/2022. I need to go to the drop down to select last year and to date this year.

I would like to change the default to "LAST FINANCIAL YEAR TO DATE"

I think that’s a default, however if you Memorise a report, it will retain all settings (including the date range) so if there are reports you run regularly, I’d suggest Memorising them once you’ve modified the date 😁

Unfortunately that does not work and to get a "fast report" it's a matter of a right click to open the fast report. If you memorise it then I would have to go to the memorised reports to get the results. Once I right click and get details of the item, I have to go the "custom report" and change the date for reporting to Last Financial Year to Date which is really a pain but less painful than running the memorised report.

I just want the information produced by the FAST REPORT to default to the Last Financial Year to Date, being last year and to the 13/07/2022.

Thanks for your attention Shaz and I hope you understand what I am looking for.

I agree with Shaz, if you generate a fast report, change to the date you require and then memorise the report, the date range should remain the same in the memorised report. So you just go to memorised reports and click on the one you have memorised

    Hi OZFLEX

What is it that you're wanting a FastReport on ? As I said, if it's a regular Item or Account, it would save you time to Memorise it once Modified. You can even add a 1-click Icon to a specific report in your Icon Bar:

    Shaz,

If I go to my inventory screen and want to see a quick history (sales order/purchase order/invoice) on a particular item, I just right click on the item and go to "fast report" and BINGO all the past history is displayed. To do it as a memorised report I will go to the item then go up to Reports, go to Memorised Report then find my particular memorised report on "item details", amongst my many memorised reports to get the same result.

    1. If you look at the screen display, its easy to right clip, you get the drop down, clip on Fast Report
    2. Information returned is from the 1/7/2022 to 13/7/2022
    3. I then have to go to the Custom drop down and have to select Last Financial Year To Date.

I want the "Last Financial Year to Date" to be my current default until I have some decent history to pop up.

I understand what you're saying but the only way to have it retain the Last FY date range is to Memorise it like that 😬

    @OZFLEX

The date setting for fast reports cannot be changed from the default selection.

Creating a memorised report as Shaz & Kris have outlined above is the best option when it comes to customising reports with the parameters that will provide value to you in terms of what insight they'll display.

If this is something you'd find useful though then I'd recommend that you create a feature request for this though on our Ideas Portal which I'll link below. Our dev team reviews popular ideas as voted by users and uses the feedback from there to determine any features/functions to incorporate in future where feasible -

Thanks Everyone for your valued input and solutions. While the "memorised report" is the best way forward, I have tried it but find it is quicker to do the right click and change the date parameter. Just wish I didn't have to as I use this Fast Report feature quite often in a day.

It is perhaps a feature to consider as it doesn't really bring any valuable information forward in the first days/months of the new financial year. But I am sure Reckon's development team have features to work on that would benefit a wider audience when prioritising enhancements to the system. I'll just put up with it.

    Once again, thankyou
