Enterprise wont EMAIL invoices
I have just installed Reckon Enterprise onto my laptop.
I want to email monthly invoices as I did last month (on an old laptop). Only now it wont send. First it says it cannot connect to the server (gmail).
Second attempt using a totally different email address and email server (ie NOT google) also resulted in failure to send and similar error message.
Given I have tried two completed unrelated email servers (and double/triple checked the settings) it would seem to be a Reckon issue, NOT an internet / email provider issue.
Can someone please assist as there seems to be no way to test it except to send an invoice!

When it comes to Gmail sending emails out from Reckon Accounts Business there have been some recent changes which Google have implemented which will require some slight changes when it comes to authentication. We've created a help guide below which provides a step by step walkthrough on exactly how to resolve it and I'll link that below -
In relation to the second account you tried, its hard to say what that could be attributed to at this point without more details but I'll also link some info below on the common causes of email functionality getting tripped up -

- GOOGLE instructions - yes, there have been changes. Namely, Google STOPPED the use of 'less secure apps' options back in MAY. This guide is USELESS as this option NO LONGER EXISTS.
- I've read through the other three guides for my own self-hosted email and again, no useful info (and the English is terrible - very hard to understand in places).
So... what else can you suggest!?!

And... in further testing I've talked with the email provider - they confirm my settings are correct although they think there should be an SSL option!
And... i've tried ANOTHER SMTP email hosting service account and get the SAME error. SO it seems to be a Reckon Enterprise issue.
Please provide some REAL technical support and troubleshooting as printing and manually emailing my invoices each month is not good.

Have you tried these ?
1- Please check this article, this time try to use Gmail again, and instead of Gmail's password, you have to use App's password : https://help.reckon.com/article/kznwf55lct
2- For Outlook web, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-sign-in-to-outlook-on-the-web-763fab4d-0138-4814-b450-37fc286bcb79 and make sure you have correct username and password. Then try the same in Reckon Desktop.

- Gmail - I tried this carefully - twice - with no success (same error).
- I do NOT have an outlook email address.

In this case, if possible, can you check if your Windows license also include Outlook.
If available, try to check if your emails are working fine with outlook (Outlook should be updated) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-an-email-account-to-outlook-6e27792a-9267-4aa4-8bb6-c84ef146101b.
If emails working fine with outlook, and you have *complete admin access on system as Window user, In Reckon, edit>preference>send forms try to set 'email provider-to Outlook' and then send email from Reckon.
Note : Based on your setting in edit>preference>online>company preference - 'display each email before sending'option checked or not, either email will be sent right away or outlook will open a window where you should be able to see email you prepared from Reckon (When clicked on email), you can click on Send.
