Reckon Accounts Hosted and ConnectWise Reckon onprem

Hi team,

Wondering if you have any experience moving from Reckon Accounts to Reckon Accounts Hosted and syncing with ConnectWise Manage which we host ourselves.

We would like to explore moving our Accounts service to an online hosted service but want to ensure the integration with ConnectWise can be done effectively.

Hi Dan,

If you're currently using Reckon Accounts Desktop then your company file will upgrade and open directly in Reckon Accounts Hosted.

With that said, Reckon Accounts Hosted operates quite differently from a technology perspective compared to the desktop editions so I'd highly encourage you to test out any 3rd party integrations you're currently using to ensure they operate successfully with Hosted.

I decided to look into it but couldn’t find any info on their website about their integrations. The Live Chat popped up so - having explained I have a client on Reckon Accounts desktop who currently uses ConnectWise integration - I asked the question there, if they also integrate directly with Reckon Accounts Hosted. After much confusion, they told me Reckon’s not on their integrations list at all meaning they don’t integrate with Reckon. I told them they DO as I have a client on desktop! 🤦🏻‍♀️

They finally told me they’ll have to ask their designated ConnectWise account manager 🙄🤨

Also i did check they do not have an open API, so it will be very difficult to integrate, and they are US mob, very difficult to get help as per my experience .

However , they may have an API , not open to public developers.

@cosmic They do already integrate with desktop though - my client & @InSight_Dan are both using it … their team just don’t seem to know much about it 🤦🏻‍♀️ (on Live Chat, anyway)

The guy I was messaging with had no idea who “Reckon” even is 🙄

They understand it as a Quickbooks integration. That was what we used when we initially set up 10+ years ago.

Yes, they asked if it was "QuickBooks" (which it was back then but is now completely separate, as Intuit's "QuickBooks Online" - aka "QBO" - is an entirely cloud-based program so would be completely different integration-wise)
