We have had an increase in the hourly pay rate.

On the payslip, under 'Pay Details' the old hourly rate is showing. Under 'Pay Items' the new hourly rate is showing.

I changed the hourly rate to the new rate when I did the pay run for each employee. I then finished the pay run. I then realised I had not changed the pay rate under 'Émployees' - Pay setup, meaning when the pay run was finished the old rate was still in pay setup. Is this why the two pay rate figures are different on the payslip?

The new pay rate has been used to calculate pays so no issue with that. Can I do something to change the pay slip so all pay rates are correct?

    Hi @Sue MacKenzie

    Yes you're on the right track, when you change the rate of earning item within the pay run, it only changes it for that specific pay run and not the default that has been setup in the employee's Pay Setup.

    This allows you to make edits on the fly for a specific pay run without changing the ongoing default settings. In order to change the rate on a permanent basis, you can do so within the employee pay setup.


    I've added an example below where you'll see I've changed the rate for the ordinary earning item within the pay run just for that specific pay run. And the second is where I've changed the rate within the employee's pay setup.

    Thanks for your help Rav. So the only way I can get the payslips to show the same pay rate is to undo the finished pay run, then do the pay run again?

    Hi,

    my employee is requesting old payslip back in 2020 and 2021 where old accountants in charge of the book

    we sent them the payslip but the hourly rate showcase the rate in the current employee set-up for example $25

    while the ordinary rate back then is lower $21.5

    Is there anyway to fix this?


    This is the first time I have this problem because another client of mine requesting old payslip for their employees too but the rate in the hourly rate section and the rate in the payslip match

    for example the payslip below is generated on 2023 for 2019




    For both case, we both generate old payslip back 2021 now in 2023 but why different result

    FYI, for both case, when there is rate increase we always change the payrate in the set-up not in the payrun separate only like the thread above.


    Please provide me with you advice
