Missing Employee After Migration from Payroll Premier
I am missing an employee after migration from Payroll Premier.
As I am still waiting for an answer from Technical Support via the messenger app, I have gone through and entered him manually, and the YTD figures that were calculated as from the last pay processed in Payroll Premier.
Does this affect his totals in the ATO i.e. would they view him as a new employee?
Any help would be appreciated.

Great work Stacey π As long as the employee info is the same, in particular the name, date of birth and especially the employee number and TFN then there shouldn't be any issues π.

Hi there Stacey
Can I just clarify, did you create the employee in Reckon Payroll itself or did you run the migration from Payroll Premier again?
If its the former, did you enter all the same information for the employee that you have for them in Payroll Premier? eg. employee number, TFN, date of birth etc etc?

Hi Rav,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I entered him manually,
Entered everything the same as in Payroll Premier, then I entered all of the current year's YTD figures from his last pay in Premier.

Great, thank you.
I will check the ATO data, once I complete my first pay, I was just concerned that they might view him as a new employee, his start date was 1999.

Another quick question, with this new software, do we still have to mail in any new employees Tax File Declaration, or does it upload automatically?

@Stacey - I am assuming you have processed a pay run in the new program - How did it go? What is the reporting like? I was only contacted by Reckon late last week to advise that Payroll Premier was not being upgraded and that I needed to migrate - They told me the reporting functions were not as good as Payroll Premier and other functions would be lost. I am concerned and confused - Processing approx. 80 casual employees per week I need it to be quick and easy.

Hi Samantha,
I haven't processed a pay yet, my first one will be Thursday. To be honest, I am dissappointed that some of the reports aren't ready yet, still saying coming soon. I usually run a report at the end of each month for Superannuation as I use a separate clearing house to make payments, also a PAYG report, these aren't available yet.
I haven't changed over to STP 2 as yet, I would like to do a payrun or two to get used to this new system. I have asked the question, but haven't had a response yet.
When I migrated, one employee did not come across, so I had to enter him manually, also I had to click on all of my super funds and manually enter their ABN number. Make sure you have that list with you when they ring. Also, my accrued sick leave hours did not migrate, so I had to enter them manually.
I am hoping it will be an easy system to use. But having said that, I have been using Payroll Premier for 20 years, and I found it to be a very easy, user friendly program. I was disappointed that I couldn't continue.
I will let you know how I go after I process my first pay π

How do I add child support as a deduction in the new payroll app, or would it have carried across from the migration?

I messaged technical support yesterday, and they said to put the child support deduction under Student Loan, that dosen't seem right?
