So from finance to insurance Reckon has its finger in it, how about they just get the software up to date and user friendly, here is an idea - What about a discount column instead of a line.

Mmm gee been asking for that since I was a boy it seems.

    Hi @PhilRMA

Can you clarify further the specific problem you're experiencing with this & I can try to help ?

To provide a bit of background .... "Reckon Accounts" was originally Intuit's "QuickBooks" program for which Reckon had license for development here in Australia. When that particular license period ended, Intuit required the name to be changed in Australia as they wanted to promote their online QuickBooks program here - hence the name change - but they provided Reckon license for ongoing development for the next 100 years.

As a result, unfortunately there are some aspects that Reckon are unable to change as they're hard-wired into the original base-coding. However, Reckon's development team are very committed to optimising the product as much as possible, depending on what user's specifically want. If a particular feature is requested by many, they are always open to introducing it if they can. Reckon actually have a specific "Ideas" site for this purpose, where users can request & vote for features & enhancements so I'd suggest having a look there to add/vote for this:

    Morning @PhilRMA

We're really proud to offer a number of products and services that touch on various areas across the market. Its important to note though, our expansion into different services doesn't detract from our ability to enhance our software offerings. In fact, there has been a massive volume of work across our product range already this year with a lot more to come including a system upgrade for Hosted this weekend just as an example.

Regarding your suggestion for a discount column, that sounds like a practical enhancement and its something that I'd strongly encourage you to raise a feature request for on our Ideas Portal HERE as there doesn't seem to be one for it at this stage. As Shaz mentioned above, our product teams look at the most popular requests as raised and voted by our users themselves to shape decisions around inclusions in future updates. To be clear, not everything can make the cut for various reasons, including codebase constraints, however we're always open to feedback on what and where things can be improved.

I have been using Reckon since 1994 and over the years found many things that just are not right.

For example if you have multiple items with a discount and then a sub total, and then try to do a final sub total so you can apply a final rebate for example, the sub total will be wrong, the final total will be right but it goes into melt down further up, oh Reckon have told me many times a work around, I dont need a work around I need software that work. Discount columns have been promised since I first asked in 1995, yet nothing in near 30 YEARS!

You branch out in to finance, and now business insurance, here is a novel idea, invest some money in to development of the software and leave finance to banks and insurance to brokers.

If I had the resources to build my own program I think you would loose half your clients over night, the only thing saving you is that MYOB is worse than Reckon and Zero is too expensive when you ad on all the modules needed.
