MFA - Reckon should offer better options for minimul use licences

Dear Community,
The recent mandate for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) effective from May 15th has sparked numerous discussions. Many have been directed to contact sales support for tailored solutions.
After discussing our specific needs with the sales team yesterday i will report that i was very disappointed with the options.
Considering we currently have four full-time users & pay for 4 Licences, I advised the sales team that we also require access to the system by our CFO who accesses the system once each month for 2-3 hours & also for our accountant who accesses the system sporadically throughout the year.
We were advised to acquire two additional licenses. It seems disproportionate for infrequent access, and I propose that Reckon consider introducing a minimal use license option. This would be a fairer approach for customers who require access for just a few hours monthly or occasionally throughout the year, rather than having to purchase a full license.

Hi there Trish
Would a monthly licence work better for you in the case of this additional user? The reason I ask is, there is an option to have a licence that runs on a monthly basis only rather than committing to a full annual licence if that's a viable option for your requirements.
The caveat is that you will need to manage a monthly licence when it comes to cancelling it when its not required and then resubscribing to it when it is by contacting our Customer Service team by phone or email.
Separately, is there a reason why your accountant is using your login and not their own? Generally an accountant should have their own account/licence which you will then share your file to.

Hi @Rav - The 'monthly licence' may be an option for our accountant.
But our CFO that access's it once every month for 2-3 hours would still require us to purchase a full licence either every month.. or a full year.. As mentioned, it is disproportionate and not value add for us to purchase a full licence for only 2-3 hours of usage every month for our CFO.
The sales team did not offer any great solutions to this.. only to say we need to purchase another full licence.

I totally agree Trish - I am getting the same calls from my small users - eg they have 2 computers in the office but different part time staff working there each day of the week - other than having a dedicated mobile that stays in the office (which resolves login for one computer in this case) - they are going to need to be able to contact the user of the mobile number that MFA is setup for on the 2nd login - a total pain really when they are not doing anything out of the ordinary in terms of how many licenses they have… I get that this may be a requirement of the ATO - but it has played into Reckon's hands "very nicely, me thinks"!

if they are logging in via the one license, just at different times, and the phone with MFA is at the office then you shouldn’t have a problem. The code is required at the original login, not when a user opens a company file

They are able to use the web authenticator app on the computer if different users are using the same computer then the authenticator app is the answer instead of the code going to a mobile phone.
