Thanks Rav, there has been so many messages about this, I am yet to find if the current MFA that I have been using for STP is one and the same as above?

I've added some info around this in an earlier reply in this thread which I'll link to HERE.
Put simply, if you usually login to the Reckon Portal with the same login credentials as your Reckon Accounts Hosted account then yes, when you enable MFA in Hosted it will just use that same existing MFA you already have.
As mentioned in the info linked above, this only applies to users who login to the Reckon Portal with their Reckon Accounts Hosted login credentials. If you are using a different login for the Reckon Portal eg. signing in with an email address for example, then you will need to follow the steps to setup MFA here and it will be a separate MFA.1 -
Kris I have a Recovery Pin saved from last year, would this be the same pin, as I have searched Reckon to find out how to see if before revoking etc, and am confused.
I think I have a Reckon Hosted login
then a Reckon STP login in, and
a Reckon Forum login
But I cannot find a Reckon Portal login?

Thanks Rav, as I have a few logins, I will need to revoke and redo.
But do I need different logins, can I just have it all to one email address?
And the email address for the Portal is a really old email address, so now is a great time to update it, will this mess things up?

I've split your replies into their own post here so we can just have a chat about your individual case away from the main announcement.
My first question is.. do you login to the Reckon Portal (for sending your STP submissions) using your Reckon Accounts Hosted user name and password OR do you login using something else? eg. an email address

I just found the Reckon Portal is what I think of as GovConnect right for STP?
I login to this with the old email address, I was reluctant to change the login details due to it being so hard, but thought now would be a good time to update it.

Yes correct, GovConnect is what you use to send your STP submission and that lives within the Reckon Portal ie. you login to the Reckon Portal to access this.
If you're logging into the Reckon Portal to access GovConnect using an email address (ie. NOT your Reckon Accounts Hosted user name & password) then you'll need to set up MFA for Hosted by following the steps here and it will be a separate MFA from the one you currently use for the Reckon Portal/GovConnect.

So I have 2 MFA's on my phone then? Am I safe to change the email address before setting up MFA ?

Yes you can have two separate MFA's (ie. one for Hosted and other for the Reckon Portal/GovConnect) on your authenticator app or phone number.
Just to clarify, which email address are you looking to change? The email address for your Reckon Portal login, Reckon Accounts Hosted or something else?

The one for the Reckon Portal, I have a business email I would like to use, as the other one I have not used for maybe 19 years. Will that work?
I am happy to add my business email to the Hosted also and just tidy it up.
As when I go away I will need to revoke the MFA on my mobile and put it to my daughters just for those 4-5 weeks.

Yes you're more than welcome to update your login email address for the Reckon Portal any time. The only condition is that the new email address must not already be registered to an existing Reckon Portal account.
To update your Reckon Portal email address follow the below steps -
- Login to the Reckon Portal at
- Click on Profile in the top right corner
- Edit your login email address
- An email will be sent to your new email address to verify the email address

Great thanks Rav, no it is not registered to anywhere else or so I thought until I tried to change it.
I see this but have no idea where it would be registered, what should I do?

Rav I have also seen something odd at the top of my login I don't wish to put it here, as it is a clients name and not mine?
Or should I phone the Tech desk and see if they can sort out?

I think it might be best to have a chat with our support team particularly as we'll need to do some checks on the email address you want to update etc. Give the team a buzz when you've got a chance and one of our technicians will be able to get you back on track.

Rav this is driving me nuts, I rang Reckon 13.5.24 and asked them about changing the MFA over to my new company email address, I then had to go out and get a statutory declaration witnessed to prove that it was my email address. Then I sat on the phone with Reckon and told them what I wanted and that I am a bookkeeper lodging STP on behalf of a client, they told me I had to put the Customer Portal in my own name as a sole trader so it is all set up ready to go. Then today my first payrun since the 15.5.24 changeover I get this error report.
So now I am sitting on the phone again with Reckon now telling me the login needs to be in the name of the company I am lodging the STP for, but that is totally different to what they told me the other day.
And then what do people do if they lodge STP for several companies, do they have a separate login for each one, and then have to create many email addresses, sorry Reckon really don't seem to know what they are doing.
This has taken up so much time for which we do not get paid, and still none the wiser as to what is going on.

I use my own login to the customer portal and access the clients (my kids and friends) files in the shared files window. Which were shared by the client in their own login originally

But my clients don't and have never used Reckon to share anything?

I'm not following what's happening here at this stage so lets clarify a few things to get on the same page.
From the looks of your screenshot, you're able to login to GovConnect (and I assume Hosted as well), so what has changed with this since the last time you were able to successfully send an STP submission for this entity?
More specifically, what is the ABN for this STP entity and what is the user name that you use to sign into the Reckon Portal to access GovConnect? ie. the user name that you enter into the below field when signing in.
If the support team haven't been able to straighten this out on your call then please send the above info to me in a private message along with the case number and I'll try to see where things are at.
