Can I create a Payroll ABA file with just the Accounting Essentials and Payroll Subscriptions?

We use the Accounting Essentials package as as we have a separate program for invoicing (child care industry) and do not need the extra capabilities of the Accounting Plus (or Premium) package. We have added the now more expensive Payroll Large package as we have more than 10 employees. Our bank wants us to use our software to generate the payroll ABA file but we cannot find where to do this. Is this possible? It would seem as though the increased cost of the Payroll module should include this basic function particularly as all of the other "new" inclusions are useless to us.

    Hi Tanvi

Here are few screen grabs from our program

This is the packages we have:

I have now worked out how to geenerally make payments but when I go to "Add Payment Item" the payroll details are not there, do I need to add each payment again to the individuals? Is there an example somewhere which shows how to do this?

    Thank you.

    Andrew N.

    Hi Tanvi

I followed the first link and it says specifically:

    image.png

    So employees are excluded there.

I then went to the second link and it was about creating items which was interesting and something I might look into but it did not relate to creating ABA files to pay employees. Anywhere further to look? or did I miss something in these links? What would be extremely useful would be a youtube video of someone doing this but the payroll video stops at the generation of the payslips and lodging STP.

    Thanks

Okay … progress is being made …

    I found this:

    image.png

Under the Make Payments tab, never found it before … however after setting up a dummy pay run and making it as paid I get the following:

    image.png

This is for an employee who does have pay due. I get the same result if I try this before finalising the pay run.

    Progress but not there yet.

    So what have I missed?

    Thanks

    Hi

    Just found this link

Which shows the new system but stops after the submitting to ATO and sending payslips and does not continue to making the payment - either individually or by ABA file - can I suggest that this be added to the video or a link added please.

    Hey @AndrewN

Just wanted to loop back to this. You're 100% right, the how-to video you've linked above doesn't cover the process to create a payments file at this stage.

The reason for that is we've got some plans around making some significant enhancements to the process of creating an ABA file and bring it within Reckon Payroll itself.

Its still very early days at this stage on this so stay tuned for more info on this.

In the interim, we'll look to create a better, more intuitive guide on creating payment files with Reckon Payroll, as it exists now in its current form, which hopefully helps make it easier to understand and use.

    Hi folks,

Just wanted to post a quick update here to let you know the process to generate a bank payments (ABA) file for payroll is now more streamlined and can be actioned directly from the payrun.
